Managing Director, Diversified Search Group

Andrew Wheeler

Passionate about finding the right individuals who can make a significant impact for mission-driven organizations, Andrew has spent his entire career discovering and assessing emerging leaders and senior executives.

Andrew leads the Education, Nonprofit, and Arts and Culture practice at the Diversified Search Group, as well as being an active member of the firm's Healthcare Services practice.

Andrew’s clients have included liberal arts colleges, public and private comprehensive universities, research-intensive institutions, and academic medical centers. He has led academic and administrative leadership searches and conducted more than 275 searches for institutions nationwide. He has written two case studies on issues facing higher education for the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Prior to joining Diversified Search in 2003, Andrew spent four years with Heidrick & Struggles. Earlier in his career, he worked as Assistant Dean of Admissions at Bowdoin College in Maine, where he managed student volunteers, reviewed applications, and recruited prospective students. He worked in the creative and technical staffing industry for HireKnowledge, effectively leading its Philadelphia, New York, and San Francisco offices.

Andrew serves on the Advisory Board for the PSM Program at the College of Science and Technology at Temple University. He sits on the Executive Committee of the Economy League of Greater Philadelphia, and he formerly served on the Board for the YMCA West Philadelphia and the Pennsylvania Workforce Development Board. 

Andrew co-founded the Friends of Cobbs Creek Park, a reflection of his love for the outdoors, and he has hiked the 2,600-mile Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada.
